The restoration of Roma (1972) was created from the 35mm version held by Titanus at the Cineteca di Bologna.
In 1972, after the first screening ofthe film in Rome, Fellini, along with the producer and screenwriter Bernardino Zapponi, decided to shorten some sequences for the international market.
Only traces remain ofthese shots in the production documentation and the Deposito Legale's positive print version, stored at the CSC - National Film Archive.
This copy is the version for the international market.
The restoration was carried out at the Immagine Ritrovata lab, Bologna, in 2010.
